We showed up at Dorval airport at 4am. The flight to Newark NJ was short. The plane was really small. Due to engine problems on our plane to Tokyo, we lost 6 hours in Newark. U.S. customs are really intense, this country has serious trust issues. I wouldn't want to get arrested here.

At the airport we met a family of four from Montreal. They were really nice. The parents had travelled a lot before and were taking their two daughters to Vietnam and Laos. Kind of reminded me of travelling with my mom as a kid.

The flight to Tokyo was brutal. I had never been on a plane this long. The service on United Airlines was great. The plane was roomy, even for economy. We had several meals and drinks, and we had access to over 165 movies on individual screens. I spent the whole flight watching movies. Total Recall, Bourne Legacy among others.

There was a american kid travelling alone sitting next to us. He was travelling with his guitar. He was headed to Taiwan to see his grandparents before they pass away. He was a cool kid.

This journey has just begun but the cool thing about travelling is the people who you meet briefly but then go their separate ways. I hope to meet more interesting people along the way.

Due to the delays in Newark, we missed our connecting flight to Bangkok and we must spend the night at the Nikko Naruta Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

We are staying in a small but nice room.
It is very clean in Japan. The toilets are pretty funky! I can't find any electrical outlets in the room. If you need to charge your iPhone or iPad, i would recommend plugging into usb behind room TVs

All my life ive wanted to visit Japan and unfortunately this won't be the trip where i get the chance.

My stay here will be brief. My flight to Bangkok is a 10:50 am.

I feel jetlagged and it a bit sick so i'm going to bed to get a fresh start tomorrow.

Good night, or good morning.
