Today I saw the museum of Amazonian indegenous people as well as the national history museum. They had some interesting stuff. For example, Brazil became the seat of government for the Portuguese emopire when Napoleon chased out the Portuguese monarch from Lisbon. This gave Brazil a more prominent role after being just a money-making colony. Then when Napoleon was defeated and the monarchy wanted Brazil to return back to being a colony, the regent declared independence. How cool is that?! Anyway, on the side was also an exhibition of the history of money and coins. Really interesting and quite substantial. Checkout the map of Alexander the Great's era and what it shows
and check out what the graffiti i found outside the musuem:
the next day I went to Sugar Loaf, a steep hill that overlooks Rio and is synonymous to the city. great views from there!
