Moving up Shark Bay today. First stop Shell Beach, funnily enough, made entirely from shells, five metres deep in some areas.  All tiny cockle shells.  After time the shells break down somewhat and cement together.  A few of the older local buildings are constructed from shell blocks.

Eagle Bluff was gorgeous, like looking down on an aquarium, spotting fish and dolphins.  A "must do" campsite on the way out of the Shark Bay area.

Glen bought a fair portion of Denham Bakery's jam donuts and we continued to the Shark Bay Discovery Centre.  A fantastic and very new display told of the local areas and their history.

At the Denham IGA I was lounging out the front whipping up a quick menu and shopping list when a battered Blue Lagoon Pearls 4wd pulled up to shop.  Being a “Farmer Wants a Wife” fan, I spotted “Farmer Jamie” a mile away and quickly finished my list and dashed into the supermarket hoping to get a better look.  I got my better look as we passed in the doorway, I even got a friendly “G’day”.  Glen didn’t seem to share my excitement and strictly banned me from looking at any pearl farm tours in the vicinity.  Party pooper.  If we ran into Olivia Newton-John or Susie Quattro I wouldn’t stop him from wearing leotards with leg warmers or a leather jacket, would I?

On the way out of town paid for some water. $1 for 20 litres out of the tap.  Ground water treated with osmosis.  Yum-o, tasty osmosis.  Hope it compliments my cordial.  I spent ages arranging my groceries in a 3D puzzle method in the fridge, pantry and goodies drawer, the leftovers in a spare tub.

At Francois Peron National Park the Heritage Precinct was a good bird spotting area, Glen went to the assistance of an older couple having trouble getting their new Pajero out of low range.  All signs indicate this park has lots of sand and caravans are advised against.  We figured our van was different.  We passed a Camry driven by overseas tourists, just missing them being towed from deep sandy patch of track.  Our campsite was the only one left in the area we had chosen.  Soon after locating the van I was already sick of the ankle deep red sand.  We were near the beach but not close enough to see it without a stroll through said sand.  A nice sunset and a dolphin spotted again.
