Greetings from New Delhi - I'm back home!
The route north from Jaipur was, as expected - quite busy indeedy. The Rajasthani dust and warm sun made for a final bit of challenging riding before this 'lap of india' came to an end.
The drive in on NH8 was typically amusing and having travelled this route on numerous occasions - over the years - it was interesting to see the changes.
Gurgaon used to be a separate area south of Delhi but now feels like an ever expanding suburb. The McDonald's restaurant that's located near Manesar was once in forest area but now sadly is surrounded by high rise development. In previous trips - and away times from Delhi - this was the point at which I really felt I'd left the city, but now it's developed land all the way to lovely Neemrana.
Still, that's progress I guess?
Anyway, I'm safely back, showered and have clean clothes to wear. Opening the box of stuff I'd left at the flat was like the best Christmas ever. Clean trousers that aren't falling apart and shoes that I'm happy to be seen in. My Lidl's boots could probably walk on their own and let's not even think about my pants!
Sadly my new flatmate threw away my cheese (although I strongly suspect she ate it) and I'm currently thinking up suitable - and indeed appropriate - punishment ;-)
I will update this tomorrow with a few final thoughts and some facts and figures etc.
Time for a well earned beer I think.
