and............ amazingly someone's at home!

Today's been a much needed good day and the mighty impulse is once more back to being a top overland bike  ;-)

This once more happy camper had breakfast (looking out to sea) before riding to Jay Bharat Hero dealer in the hope of getting his bike fixed.

I arrived, as suggested, at 11am and had a quick chat about new parts and their shiny new donor bike in the showroom before helping Shiva (the mechanic) in a quick check over of my bike.

What a star he was and totaly deserving of his photo on this Blog - top man!

I left the bike with them knowing that a new instrument cluster was also needed as the chip had frazzled from the water ingress. A service was booked and I was told to come back at 5. I then did an auto back to my guest house, caught up on some admin and headed on back. The bike was being finished off and had even had a wash. The staff were fab and I was pleased to see they'd put their dealer sticker on my bike.

I've retained the old bits for my travelling 'wall of shame' - should I ever take up full UK residence again - and paid my bill. It was less than my days diving and yet will provide me with much more pleasure. Working lights and a speedometer too - who could ask for more?

The 'new' bike didn't go back into the showroom and guess they'll wait until their replacement parts arrive.

A BIG thank you to Shiva, the other mechanic (who's name I didn't get) and the manager at Bharat's - excellent service and you've made my charitable ride so much nicer!

I will probably be heading off from lovely Pondicherry tomorrow and once more heading due south.
