It was so fantastic to see Mum and Frank again. The strange thing is that it is as if we have never been apart.
Mum and Frank have put us up in a really nice hotel (apparently to them it's a bit grim). I am loving it. Fresh towels every day, air-conditioning I can control, breakfast in the restaurant, just two of us in the room in comfy beds, marble floors.....and so on and so forth.
On our first night we had dinner in Chinatown (a really nice area) and decided that we really are inept at choosing non-spicy food ..hot hot hot.
The second day involved lots of walking for me and Frank as we went to sort out another visa. Later the girlies took a wander to a nearby shopping mall. We then had a return trip to Chinatown to see a very bad Chinese Cabaret. I was hauled up on stage and sadly ruined their show when I refused to get involved...well honestly, even I was not with my parents, with the performers suggesting rude things, humiliating myself on stage is not my cup of tea.
Singapore is as you would imagine it. Everywhere are tv screens and digital designs. Lots of high rise buildings. The streets are wide, clean and green. A nice place, a little sterile maybe in the touristy parts.
