The next day we decided to relax on the beach. Unfortunately this is not possible on Baska's lovely beach as it is evenly carpeted with German and Italian families side by side on the sand. So, we took a taxi-boat around the coast, past the naturist beach to a lovely little cove called Vela Luka. Its in a funny deep narrow bay that extends far into the island between two mountains, with just a little cafe, a few people and the clearest pale blue water you can imagine - the perfect place to relax for the afternoon. The boat trip was fun too - bouncing over the adriatic at high speed in a small boat full of tourists (and one terrified baby) as the amazing island scenery passes by.
Later that evening we ate tasty pasta with truffles after bagging a table at one of the few restaurants that wasn't offering the same generic menu as all the seafront places, and then played mini-golf late at night (a narrow victory for Simon, although the best shot was definately Tess's near hole-in-one on the 15th), and then retired to the tent just in time for the nightly deluge. Unfortunately this time we weren't quite so lucky...
