Today we headed to Manhattan. Our first stop was City Hall and although not much to see here, there were black squirrels to keep us entertained. From there we headed to the 9/11 Memorial. We got the tickets and headed through airport style security, working our way through New Yorks favourite thing - many long queues! But when we got inside it had been worth the wait. This were two large waterfalls in the footprints of where the Twin Towers used to be, with the names of all victims written around the side. We could also get a brilliant view of one of the four new towers they are currently building. This is the only one erected so far but we are sure when they are all done it will be a fantastic sight.

We then called for a spot of lunch before venturing onto Trinity Church. This was a beautiful church however, unfortunately it had scaffolding and netting around it so we couldn't really see it in its full glory.

We then headed on to Wall Street - the first stop had to be the Bull. But it seemed every other tourist has the same idea and it was 5 deep all the way around with people climbing all over it! We then went on to view the New York Stock Exchange which was cool.

By now the day was slipping away from us and we had a boat to catch. So we manoeuvred our way through town - stopping for a hot fudge sundae - to the dock where our boat would be departing. After a wait we embarked the boat and claimed our spots on the top deck where we could get the best view. The boat took us on a little tour past the Statue of Liberty with the sun setting behind it - this was a beautiful sight to behold. We were also lucky enough to get shots of the Manhattan skyline with the sunsetting also. Our boat then anchored its position for the start of the fireworks. These were a beautiful display which lasted over twenty minutes. We both had an amazing time and had been well worth the wait and anticipation.

Then it was a trip back to hotel for some sleep.
