Free day wandering round Tromso today. Nothing much to tell, just a typical Norwegian town. Wooden buildings, pretty harbour and visited cathedral and museum. Tromso is the most northerly university city in the world and the most densely populated north of the Arctic circle (55,000). Hotels, restaurants and pubs feature all about but it still has that quiet & sleepy atmosphere. What we have noticed about Norway is how clean, tidy and orderly the towns are. No graffiti, no litter.

Hopefully we'll see the lights again tonight but last few nights have been cloudy. They are up there above the clouds... Frustrating!

Update. No we didn't, too cloudy and it snowed. Last chance to see them tonight, as tomorrow we cross back over the Polar Circle. At least we saw them twice!
