The rain in Spain falls mainly ..... on Daisy! Itīs been pouring down since 2am this morning and at 11.00am itīs still going - think Robīs legs will be staying covered up today (oh well, every cloud has a silver lining!). There was also some mad thunder during the night - or was that Alfie snoring .....?
So what have we been up to? Well, we are still on the same site at La Herradura. Feels like weīve been here a long time but most people we have spoken to are here for at least 3 months (donīt think thereīs any chance of that with us though and our itchy feet?). Done lots of exploring on foot around the area (think Alfīs glad of some rain, reckons heīll get a day off today!). Found a lovely marina on Thursday and had lunch at a fish resetaurant sat in the sun eying up the yachts and dreaming about winning the lottery! Got some very nice īneighboursī - even invited us over for a birthday drink that night! Talking of birthdays, Rob got me some great pressies - a tin of Heinz tomato soup, Gordons gin, Mr Kipling mince pies and McVities chocolate biscuits! I did get a fantastic cycling jacket but Rob handed me the receipt by accident before we left home! So there he was the night before my birthday scouring the shops in La Herradura for some surprise pressies - and I can honestly say I was surprised!!!!!
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. We had a drive to Nerja which had stunning scenery, but it was full of old Brits soaking up the sun - reminded us of Grange only a lot more sunny! Stopped on the way at some caves - very impressive but not as good asWhite Scar, a bit too īmuseum likeī, didnīt quite feel real. Then up into the hills a bit to Frigiliana which was a very picturesque old white washed village.
Will stay here now until after Christmas - looking forward to our M&S tinned cured turkey, tinned new potatoes, tinned carrots and tinned peas! At least we have mince pies (although Mr Kiplings are no where near as good at Mrs Kingīs!!!).
So weīll leave you for now. Thanks everyone for all your e-mails and text messages, itīs great to be able to stay in touch as we are missing you all. Have a fantastic Christmas, love Nicky, Rob and Alfie xxx
