At last I have arrived in Port Douglas to stay with my friend Brenda who spends half the year here and the other half in Surrey UK - lucky girl! We are going to have a week of celebrations - I leave here on 7th Dec to fly back to Brisbane for a few days.

My flight from Singapore was with Quantas - not nearly as good as Cathay Pacific - I am beginning to notice the degrees of "spoilt". The plane was a brand new one with full-size beds but the food and service was not up to Cathay Pacific. My friend Biddy from EBGC will be pleased to hear this as her brother-in-law worked for Cathay Pacific!! The heat here is 32 degrees and very humid - it is a lovely drive from Cairns airport to Port Douglas - gorgeous aquamarine seas and sandy beaches - I also took some photos from the plane of the Great Barrier Reef - what a wonderful sight! Brenda took me on a tour of her area - it is very lush and tropical - in fact, we have just had a thunderstorm and it is now raining - they need it here! This is the first rain she has seen in two months!

G'day
Good to hear from you & looks like the first part of your travels has gone pretty well. What an excellent website.

You might need to change your map as it looks like Port Douglas has moved south over the weekend!

Looking forward to seeing you next week. It is humid here but probably nothing like Port Douglas. Apparently storms in the evening are the norm - it didn't say that in the brochure!

I think Linda has given you our address (if not it is 16 Emanual Court, Eatons Hill, QLD 4037). Our phone numbers are Paul (work (07)34074509, mobile 0418186095 & home (07) 33255898) and Linda (mobile 0439985605).

Can't wait to hear the rest of your news from you in person & we can fill you in on our first 2 months. I said to Mum that we will call her in the evening of Friday 9th. Hope this is OK.

All the best

Oops - nearly forgot
I think Linda is meant to give you directions?

The best place to go is www.whereis.com.au - you can get directions to Eatons Hill from there.

We can always pick you up if you change your mind.

Let us know if you have any probs.

Paul

What a life!
Brigid it sounds as though you are living life to the full. Ron and I had to laugh about the massage in Singapore. Sieu Sai took us to one of these places in Kuala Lumpar and it was the most painful foot massage I have ever had. I kept yelling out loud - goodness knows what the other people must have made of it. But I persevered and it must have done me good! Apparently it is very common for business people to have this sort of treatment once a week. The facial, however, was fantastic.

So pleased everything is going so well. We are really enjoying reading about all your travels.

Lots of love Pat and Ron

Hello from Steve
Well Brigid, sounds like you are going great guns, and enjoying it all - especilly the food! You will need to go on a diet when you get back.
Hope you and your friend Brenda enjoy her 'BIG' number birthday. Hope you don't mind, I have given Marion your details as she will be back in Australia soon - might even be there in Sydney same time that you are.
I can't wait to see the pics. I am off to Salt Lake City on 20th, but look forward to hearing further news from you before then. Take care and beware of foot massagers!!
Love from Steve
