Where I stayed
12th and 13th Feb - I was up again to catch a bus at 8 am to go to Koh
Lanta island for 2 nights. My favourite place so far. I stayed in a
really nice place with individual bungalows in the grounds - it was
called Papillon - owned by a Belgian lady - she made all her own
pastries, croissants, pain au chocolat and ciabatta breads. The beach
is the best one I have been on so far - so 7/10 - warm turquoise calm
sea - walking a little like on the side of a hill, one foot below the
other so not good for bad knees. I had drinks on the beach and watched
the sun go down on the first evening with some ladies from the
guesthouse - then went back to Papillon for dinner and a nice chilled
glass of wine - I bet you wondered "what - no mention of wine? she must
be having withdrawal symptoms!! Anyway, I had a realled chilled out
time there - they had a gorgeous swimming-pool shaped out of the ground
in the gardens - really unique and interestingly shaped.
I left
there at 3 pm - I use that timing loosely - it was actually 3.45 when he
arrived to pick me up. He drove back to Krabi like he had ants in his
pants!! I soon found out why - 6 of the people had to catch a plane out
of Krabi airport to BKK - hence the Lewis Hamilton driving. We got
back in one piece at about 6.30 pm - just in time for dinner and another
film - "The Other Guy" - a really light-hearted spoof - just what I
needed to calm my nerves after the race back.
