1st Feb 2011 - I stayed in Wimbledon on 31st Jan to have a farewell dinner with my family.
The next day I set off for Heathrow to catch my BA flight to Bangkok at 9.35 pm. The tube is a very easy way of getting to Heathrow if you are already in London. Also, I only have a rucksack - in spite of the shock of one of my friends eg "where do you put your hairdryer, hair straightener, make-up, dresses etc"??? I am only going on an island-hopping and trekking holiday - not a fashion parade - mind you probably just as well as I would not win any prizes in that category! Also, I am the only one carrying the bags - hence the backpack - so easy - no waiting for your luggage to come off the baggage reclaim belt in the airports or off the ferries - a great plus.
When I got to Heathrow, I found that the only seats left were in the middle of rows - but, they had a very good deal to upgrade to Club class so I went for it - a great start to the trip - really comfortable and quiet for a long flight.
