My penultimate blog...
Ahh, my time here is nearly done! I can't deny I am already dreaming of my own bed, not fighting off Mosquito's and eating salad, lol...
Anyway, since I last wrote I have been a busy bee again. I have visited the Monkey Forrest.... An amazing wooded area in Ubud full of monkeys! You can buy a bunch of bananas on your way in if you fancy being mauled by them. I on the other hand, chose to watch others for my own amusement and was thoroughly entertained for a good while. I also went in pursuit of another Geo-cache with the intention of leaving the one I found in Gili there. Despite searching circa good 20minutes (looking a bit of an idiot I suspect) I couldn't find it!! I gave up and now I only have a day to dump this travel bug... Ahhh
This morning I did my Indonesian cookery class... It's official guys I can make Nasi or Mie Goreng! The lesson started in the Market where we were shown all the different veggies, spices and fruit. Then we went to the warung (cafe) and the lesson began... We started by chopping everything, shallots, garlic, lemongrass, pak choi, celery... The list is extensive but this is what I did! There were 2 menus on offer an Indonesian one and a Balinese one.... Everyone helped make everything regardless of what menu you chose. There was so much going on all the time I did get a bit lost but loved every minute. Once everything was made about 2 hours later we got to enjoy our culinary delights... Sadly it was the worst Nasi Goreng I've had since I've been here but never mind!! I shall tweak some bits I reckon... Needed more sauce, but I wasn't about to tell the chef that.
I've had some good nights out here, there is a really laid back feeling to Ubud. I've enjoyed a lot of live music, jazz, acoustic and Latin American.... And now I'm off to join Bonnie and her friends for some more Latin... I reckon she might be tempted to get up and dance this evening?!?
So in my last days I plan on having massages, shopping and indulging myself in the sunshine before I head back to sunny Marlow!
Take care and see y'all soon!!
