...but still 2008, so I figure this counts. The backpack has been redug out of the attic and is currently drying out in the airing cupboard, while I decide what to take. It is a bit of a hard one though - not too hot, but not too cold in the day, chilly in the evenings and in the mountains, risk of showers... I am packing a bit of everything, more than I took away with me for 3 months?!

So we are flying out of Manchester at 7.40 tomorrow - which equates to an early get up, even though the airport is only 20 minutes away - and arriving in Marrakech approximately 4 hours after. And then I really have no idea... we are going to see what happens :)

The only expectations I have are formed on a little snippet of chaos that was The Apprentice does Marrakech, last year. I just see markets, haggling, kosher chickens, and prayer alarm clocks... and magic carpets of course - I have a bit of an image of Aladdin in my mind for some reason.

I fully expect to starve, given the state of vegetarian fare in Morocco, according to the guidebook. And I expect some broken French will make an appearance at some point. Stay tuned! And Merry Christmas :) xx
