Running out of time Thursday night, we had to forego seeing the Eiffel Tower up close in order to make it to the National Museum of Modern Art in the Centre Pompidou. I think the museum would have been more interesting anyway, but we also happened upon a very special event that makes me so happy we chose to give up the Eiffel. Unknown to us, every 2nd Thursday of each month, the museum invites an art school to "take the museum by storm and create micro-events." We were very lucky to catch the invited guests: P.A.R.T.S (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios), Ecole de danse de Teresa de Keersmaeker Bruxelles. It was especially cool to encounter these performers without expecting them--it was as if many of our fellow museum patrons had spontaneously decided to wear funny clothes (or no clothes) and dance about the exhibits. It was an incredibly cool and beautiful experience.
