For Cheri's last day in Heidelberg, we took the old funicular railway up the side of the mountain to Königstuhl, to say farewell to the city. In the evening, we had dinner at Café Rosi, which turned out to be one of Cheri's best 5 meals of all time. They were playing an appropriately melancholic mix, and we both sighed in appreciation of Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter" and reminisced on its use in the movie Closer, which we both loved.

I thank Cheri for her visit and all the splendid moments we had together. I myself said farewell to Heidelberg a few weeks after this, so I'm using this photo album to feature some of my favorite people and places from the town.

There is an old German ballad titled, "I lost my heart in Heidelberg."

I can now relate.
