Instead of traveling all the way to NY to pick up Mar, she met us in PA, and we traveled together to the airport (Newark International). At first this change of plans seemed overwhelming but it worked out perfectly - we arrived at our meeting point just minutes apart, checked out some cool structures [aka "Writers Shack"!], ate some lunch at Wendy's, then got back on the road.
