Where I stayed
The time had arrived for the canoeing and bush camp in noosa. It was a bit of a blur of what to expect......mmmm i mean what do you expect of a place that's called a bush camp? Also i had no idea what to expect of Noosa in general. Turns out Noosa is an AWESOME place, kinda similar to Byron, but actually in my opinion it's actually better than Byron.....less tourists.....dam us bloody tourists making places feel, well touristy lol. We know how i hate feeling touristy by now i guess.
Anyway moving on. The next few days were spent at this bush camp thing.Really bizarre, but kinda awesome too. It was like walking in to a teen horror movie, like maybe the hills have eyes or texas chainsaw masacre lol. Basically any horror movie where the locals are hill billy's that live in tents and all sorts of rusted old stuff around them.....mainly cars lol. Despite this and the staff kinda seeming a bit like the hill billys, it was still somewhere i prefered to the crappy teen piss up hostels. There was a camp fire every night and we even got FREE mosquito bites too....yeah that's right they were FREE lol (actually i only got 1 whilst i was there, but some people obviously tasted great coz they got loads).
I was actually in what they called a 'dorm' for the 1st night. Not quite like hostel dorms, but kinda similar....more bush camp style lol. I soon learnt after my 1st night here that my sleeping bag is not made for cold weather......i FROZE!! My toes were yellow when i got out of bed in the morning, i even had my sleeping bag done up over my head and everything! You don't need air holes, breathing is totally unimportant when you're trying to keep warm so do everything up. It was like a little charlotte cocoon :-D.....a bloody cold cocoon though lol.
So yeah after a REALLY cold night, hardly any sleep and my toes nearly falling off. Ok maybe not, but they might've done. It was time for day 1 of canoeing...yey, somit else i've never tried before but glad to have the chance to do it. The sun was out and it was AWESOME, most of the day was just canoeing... and yeah it was our luck that we were against the tide.We went down to the 'glasss river'. Basically it's so balck that the water reflects things so it looks like glass.Pretty cool, but i wasn't jumping out anytime soon in to black water!!! Canoeing is pretty ace and it was wicked to finally get my little now un muscly arms actually doing something again :-).
The next few nights were spent in a tent, and even though it was cold and uncomfortable it was warmer than the dorm, so i actually chose to stay in the tent rather than go back to the dorm which actually had beds. Oh my own little tent, i loved that little bugger by the end of my 3 nights in it. It was like my own private room...or at least it would be if i was a midget. But stil there was only me in it, so i didn't care that i was sleeping on hard ground in a 'cocoon' and having to go to bed in 2 pairs of bottoms, 1 top, a hoodie and 3 pairs of socks!!! I did sleep with a really thin blue scarf/sheet thing i have hoping it would keep me a tad warmer, but that has kindly dyed my nice glow in the dark seethrough watch blue!!!!
There was a second day of canoeing too before i forget and go on more about my freezing feet and my now BLUE watch lol. Actually the 2nd day was easier too. A much shorter canoe trip, which at 1 point we had to walk down the river coz the boat grounded out lol.....yh that's how deep the river was, oooo dangerous. I don't think i could've drowned if i tried in that part lol. This time we saw some wildlife too, o yeah i got up close to a kangaroo. I'm too poor to give it food though so it didn't really wanna come to me. It was uber tame though, you could literally touch it and we were out in the wild. I also saw some really bright birds, god knows what they were though lol. Believe it or not we saw camels too....yeah apparently i've arrived in Egypt somehow without even noticing lol. I didn't believe the sign saying about camels either, but then we saw them so there ya go.
I did spend 1 day in the town of Noosa checking it out. Had to check the beach out too.....nice and chilled out just how i like it. I even fell asleep on the beach laying in my underwear and top lol. There is a dam good reason i was in underwear before you get thinking anything, well i 4got my bikini and it was nice and hot.Plus they looked like bikini shorts anyway so i thought why not. don't worry no indecency from me.....i wont even get changed in the dorms for god sake lol.
It was overall an AWESOME time in Noosa and i wish i had longer......canoeing was ace, tramping it out in the 'bush camp' was great (the toilet was interesting) and ive even got used to crap food. Oats all the way baby, sometimes plain pasta....oooo and i even treated myself to reduced price mango and passionfruit yogurts lol.I think i must be 1 of the only people in the world that actually likes soy yogurts, probly why they were reduced lol.
Off to Rainbow beach for a few days, i've heard it's kinda boring but i guess we'll soon see :-D.
