Hey everyone - I'm actually home in Pierceland and so happy to be here.

Our flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver was actually really good.  Marilyn and I shared a seat and no one sat in the middle seat so we were quite comfortable.  I slept a lot because I had been quite sick when we left Manila but was ok on that Hong Kong flight.  The service on Cathay Pacific is second to none - even their airline food is pretty good considering that they are preparing it about 30,000 feet in the air in a galley.
The Hong Kong airport is a wonder - built on a man-made island.  We actually had to take a train within the airport to get to the gate for our flight to Vancouver.  I would really like to go back to Hong Kong sometime and check it out.  I'll keep saving up those airmiles.
Vancouver was a welcome sight for all of us as it meant that we were that much closer to home.  I had no trouble with customs but lost touch with the rest of the group and hope they all had safe trips home.  Alexis and I were on the same flight but she had to continue on to Grand Prairie while I was done in Edmonton.

Barry was waiting for me in Edmonton and he was an angel.  He took one look and knew that I needed some TLC after that marathon of travel.  He hauled the bags out to the car and took  me to the Keg for a steak - the server thought that I probably would like rice with that considering where I had just come from - but I opted for the baked potato!  Everything tasted so good.  Barry was thoughtful enough to get a hotel room close by so that I wouldn't have more travel to his house.  It's seems kind of weird that we would miss each other so much considering that we live 200 miles apart but we talk everyday and we didn't have that connection while I was away.  He's an awesome guy and I'm blessed to have him in my life.

I managed to get some sleep although I'm definitely jetlagged but not as badly as I thought.  Perhaps tonight will be ok - I have one more day off to get my life together.  I left Edmonton early due to the impending snowfall warnings and the fact that I'm still not 100%.  My drive home was good and uneventful but it still is winter here and I was reminded of that fact when I got home.  It's not very cold but compared to plus 25 2 days ago it's an adjustment for the body to make.

This will be the last blog that I post.  Thanks for all of your encouraging, positive comments.  Good luck to my fellow participants with their presentations - I have one booked for March 12th so I need to get busy next week. I am going to try posting a picture of our group from when we visited the founder of the SIDC co-op so you can get an idea of who the participants are.

Have a great day and keep in touch!
