Christmas Day has finally come!! With a nice sleep in til 10am we got up showered and then got packed ready for Kelsey to drive us back to Toronto in the late afternoon.
We left at 11.30 for there Grandparents home which was quaint and quite Canadian. Their family was so nice and welcoming we felt at home immediately. We sat in the living room and had a drink and met all the family, cousins, uncles, aunties, grandparents and then headed downstairs for lunch. It was traditional turkey with cranberry sauce, salad, vegetables, stuffing the whole lot! We sat downstairs surrounded by family and had a nice old chit chat. We pulled crackers, then had dessert and then we opened presents. Marcel and I were abit worried because its a little awkward when people open presents when others arn't part of the family and won't get them so I felt werid being in the room. But when the kids handed the presents out Kelsey's parents had gone and bought us Canadian mittens, chocolates, stickers, Canadian jumpers each they were so so nice! It was abit embarrassing too, we got more presents than the kids it felt like. It was so nice of them so we are going to send them flowers.
Late that afternoon Kelsey and her Dad drove us back to Toronto. It was extremely nice of them since it was Christmas day and we got to the hostel about 4pm. We checked into our room which was a nice private room because it was the only accomodation left but ended up being 10 dollars more expensive and we had our own bathroom, tv and so much less noise! We had the others over, Steven, Claire, Fernando and Steven and we had dinner at the hostel a Christmas feast put on by the Hostel with turkey, ham, cranberry sauce again delish!
After dinner we all utilised Marcel and I's private room in the hostel and watched a Christmas movie with some chocolate and it was a nice way to end a nice Christmas!
