My two housemates (Talia and Mel) and two other friends (Anna and Emma) and I headed out on a girls' adventure to Morocco for a week from London for the last glimpse of heat and sunshine before winter sets in.

Well what a culture shock this was. I was thinking this was going to be somewhat like Turkey but it is so different. Plus we arrived in the middle of Ramadan - the Muslim holy month.

The first day after arriving in our cool 'riad' we checked in and headed for a feed and some shopping in the local markets in the medina. I wasn't quite expecting Istanbul's Grand Bazaar which was probably a good thing cos it was quite similar with its wears and wasn't as big or picturesque. Morocco is popular for its leather goods and so the whole place smelt of sickening tanned leather and donkey/mule dung.

Day two, we headed on a day trip to the waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains past some pretty scenery and tradiotional Berber houses, one of which we got to go in to and take some pics of a family going about their usual day. When we got to the waterfall drop off spot we ended up needing to pay MORE money to actually be taken there. Considering it was pooring with raining we scrapped that idea and went back to town for more shopping and some beautiful henna painting on our hands and feet.

Day three and we were on our way to Casablanca...
