Tuesday was spent on a long 8hr bus journey from Chicago to Minneapolis and just went straight to the hostel and went to bed. Temperature was a lot less than Chicago so could actually sleep.

Wednesday we went to Mall of America. We caught a bus from just outside the hostel. We tried to buy a day pass but the bus driver gave it to us for free. Don't know why but not complaining. Once we were in downtown Minneapolis, we caught the tram to MoA, which took about 35mins.

The Mall was built when the Minnesota baseball and football teams moved from Met Stadium to the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. This left a huge amount of land available to build the Mall. It is one of the largest malls in the country.

We spent the whole day at the Mall. There is plenty to do apart from shopping. They have a theme park in the middle of the mall, very similar to the one in Metroland in Gateshead, as well as cinemas, bars and nightclubs.

In the evening after we had been back to the hostel to change we went to Hard Rock cafe to eat. They had a promotional offer on their cocktails so we had one of those in souvenir guitar shakers. We also went to Gameworks and played 2 games of glow in the dark bowling. I finally managed to beat Graham in the 2nd game, 139 to 118!

The next day we went to the Walker Sculpture Garden on the outskirts of downtown Minneapolis. Most of the sculptures we found pointless but there were a couple that we liked (and took photos of). The flower garden was also very nice to walk through with the scents of the flowers lingering in the air. We saw two chipmunks, and a little rabbit that was coincidently sitting right by the rabbit sculpture!

We then walked through Loring Park to the city centre, and walked down Nicollet Mall before catching the bus to St Paul. Once in St Paul we walked round the centre and saw the St Paul Cathedral. We went to Rice Park/Landmark Plaza and saw the Peanuts gang sculptures - a memorial to Charles Schultz.

We headed back to Minneapolis and since we weren't allowed back to our hostel until 4pm, we deiced to go and eat something at The Olive Garden, an Italian restaurant. It was delicious and cheap as well. Afterwards we went for another browse round MoA, and after a coffee and a cake we headed back to the hostel to pack.
