Our flight from New Orleans was a nearly respectable time of 8:10am but still had a fairly early start. Caught a taxi at 5:30am and got to the airport. Unfortunately, because we had changed our tickets less than 24hrs before we were due to fly, we were selected for a secondary security search. This just meant that they searched our bags and took swabs of the bags, presumably for explosives. No sniffing dogs for me this time though!

After the rest of the flight was ok, we arrived in Atlanta and caught a courtesy shuttle to our hotel - Econolodge, part of Choice Hotels, by the airport. The room was $42 for the night, and cheaper than dorms so made sense. The room was pretty small but still had ensuite, TV and air con, so for one night was quite comfortable.

The best thing was the free shuttle to the airport, as from there we caught the metro into the city centre. We went to the World of Coca Cola which cost $9 and was quite interesting, with a tasting room at the end of the tour!

Atlanta was the birthplace of Martin Luther King, so we walked to The King Center for a look around. We watched a short film all about Martin Luther King's life and the work he did, and saw some pretty powerful exhibits that moved me to tears.

After a stop outside to see the memorial rose garden, we went back to the hotel.
