We arrived in Sydney last week, and managed to find a house to live in on our first day. Moved in a couple of days ago - sharing with another couple and 2 girls. It's definitely the way to go - much more homely than hostels. You can even unpack your rucksack for a change, and they even have wardrobes! Check out Sydney Terraces to book your place. They have a long waiting list around Xmas but if you pester them like we did, you may get lucky!

Not so easy is finding jobs, but nevermind! The weather has picked up a bit and has been sunny and hot and mid 20s temperature wise. Off to Bondi Beach tomorrow to soak up some sun!

Sydney has a good rail system to get around the city, unless, like us you have a lot of time on your hands. In which case you can walk everywhere, but it might take a couple of hours.

The opera house and bridge are the obvious sights to see, but take a trip to see them at night as well, as the view is much better. There are several places to eat and drink by the harbour and watch the world go by.

Sydney is a lot like London - BIG! but with more green space tucked in and around the city. Today we have been to a park by the harbour to watch the world's biggest risotto being made. It even made the Guinness Book of Records! Then we got to eat some - it was very tasty as well!

anyway, so long for now - hopefully we will get jobs soon and be able to save some money. Planning to stay here until after new year though - Xmas on Bondi Beach and New Years watching the harbour bridge fireworks - a definite must!
