That pretty much sums up how I'm feeling at the moment. It's 12pm and I am ready to go. Still got a couple of hours before we get on a train, making our way down to Heathrow. As usual, I couldn't sleep in and was up at 8am, with the familiar feeling of butterflies in my stomach.
We've rung up BA to make sure that it doesn't matter too much that our bags are slightly over the 23kg allowance. Apparently, this is a new limit that they are bringing in on 30th September, so we shall get away with it for now. They should try packing their life into 1 bag, it's nearly impossible.
Mild panic is starting to creep in now, so to combat this we have a mini bottle of champagne (thanks Neil) and some chocolates (thanks Ian) to calm us, (well me actually!) down on our journey to the airport
Well we've said almost all our goodbyes, and thanks to everyone who left messages in my book. I'm waiting until we're airborne until I read them, as I suspect once the tears start, it may be hard to stop. It's a strange feeling now, we're just sitting around, waiting to go. I'm nervous, excited and sad all at the same time, although part of that is normal every time I fly, but reality is starting to kick in that we won't be seeing friends and family for a long time. However, thanks to the internet, and our new webcam, it's going to be a lot easier to keep in touch....
Well, it's time to sample my mum's lovely cooking for the last time in a while and then once the car is packed, we'll be off to the station, and the journey will begin....Hopefully through travelpod, you can join us on the ride!
