I did more at Manchester than visit the stadium, but it was mostly a shopping trip, as I've heard of its reputation as a big mall city. Which was true, and Manchester reminded me of Sydney actually. The city is split into the more trendy, branded shopping complexes ala Pitt Street, and then the retro-alternative stores ala Newtown. I spent most of day one at the retro parts myself =)
On day two I went to Old Trafford, because it'd be a waste not to, being so close (lol). I grew up with English football throughout my Malaysian life, so I know without saying that they are statistically England's best team - but I've always cheered for the other team xD
It was interesting, even for a non-fan. I didn't even know about the Munich air disaster, poor things. And my gosh did our old guide kept taunting fellow teams Liverpool and Man City. To be expected I guess. And when we got to the dressing room, I feel so old/out of touch, only recognizing three names - hahahaa! But hey, I even wore red on the day, so at least I blended right in with the
fanatics =P
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves =)
