hey folks hope all is well back home. lets begin..
After a big night on monday in Cusco we headed on an overnight bus (15 hours, to easy these days) to Nazcar. Nazcar is a world class crap hole but in the 30's someone flew over the desert and found these amazing lines drawn in the sand that could only be appreciated from the air. As soon as we got off the bus we hooked up a ride in a 5 seater sesna to fly over the lines. They were pretty amazing. Luckily i didnt have breckie as it was rough going in the plane. i toyed with the pics a bit so u can see the lines better. To this day they dont know why the incas made them, some say alians were breeding with then and such...right...anyways there are lots so i dont know how they had time to do any work! my fav was the "astronaut" and the "condor" which is huuuge.
After the lines we headed outta there and onto..
ICA
We arrived in Ica and were shocked to find a (hot) bussling city. the lack of altitude was welcome, but the heat took some getting used to! We headed 4km out of town to the desert oasis called "wackachina" (not how u spell it, but thats how u say it!). It was pretty cool and a good chance to sit by the pool for a while. Our next day in wacka we decided to do some dune buggy tour and try our hand at sandboarding. i assumed id be good at it, but it was damn hard and much different than snowboarding. I reckon its more risky, plus u have sand EVERYWHERE (seriously) for days. No pics of me actually doing the boarding unfortunately as cameras, sand and crashes dont mix!
On the way back from barding i asked the driver for "mas rapidio" and he certainly delivered. It was made more scary because our buggy was so much older/crapper than the other we were racing (they also had cushioned seats!) but we survived thankfully.
So after that mild says worth of relaxing im back on the road and now in Lima. what a place, but ill leave that for the next entry...
