after a cold and rainy day yesterday and a bad forecast for today, we woke up in the morning and were surprised to see that there is no rain and that the temprature went up. we did our way to sendai station to catch the train to matsushima. when we entered the station we smelled a comforting smell of fresh bread...hhoooo...the smell was so good so we started looking (like mice in a maze) where the smell came from...we couldnt found anything like a bakery or pastry shop near by...we put our laggage in the locker and then another smell, now of burned chocolate...wow that smell was even better so again we started running after it but nothing...do they spray food odors so people will be hungry while going to take the train?? in the end we found a good place with sweet pastries..we started the day very happy!!

after half an hour we reached matsushima...this small peacefull town is situated on a bay that has a lot of small islands in it...the islands  are covered by pine trees and the scenery is amazing!!!(thanks to the great weather we had)
we took the ferry for a round trip since you can walk just to 2 or 3 islands. there where a lot of people on the boat and a lot of them enjoyed feeding the seaguls even more than watching the view...
the view was amazing and very relaxing...after the ferry we walked on one of the red bridges that connects the islands...we saw a beautiful zen buddhist shrine and ate peer flavoured ice cream.

our next station is kawaguchiko for the next 2 nights. this.kawaguchiko is a small town by kawaguchi lake that lays at the foot of mount fuji. the train ride today was tough - we had to change 4 trains and as we moved from one to another our knowledge about our next destination became smaller. the last train looked like 'rakevet haemek' from the begining of the 20th century with wood benches and very very slow motion....we didnt imagine that there are such things in the hyper modern japan. finally we got to kawaguchiku and we got a boost of cold wind in our faces...hoooo god it was so cold!!!! getting to our hostel we warmed ourselves with the beautiful japanese room weve got.

we read that the local dish is  hutto...we thought about hot things on that moment so we went to the restaurant to try it!!! wow you wont believe it.the place was huge with many low japanese style tables on tatami rags the hutto is a thick flat noodle miso stew with a lot of sweet potatos, pumpkin, potatoes, pees and mushrooms. they serve it in iron hot pot. it was cold outside but the hutto warmed us..wow it was so good!!
