Well! Exciting trip before me to Atlanta - I should have been here for only 2 days then off to Oregon, but fate took control, and the workshop there was cancelled, which now leaves me with about 10 days to stay with Matt, my one and only son and heir, and catch up with him after 18 months absence - this is not normal for a happy family - far too long b between seeing each other, and I am riddled with guilt when I leave home asMalc is not able to come with me.....even Mel would love to see her bro...but not enough money or hols to do so.
Matt is now back at Rivermont Golf Club as the head Professional - wow! The members are all thrilled to have him back and he has great prospects there. It is wonderful to see him at the airport, and we spend some time catching up,with the anticipation of meeting the new girlfriend I';ve been hearing about! I have taken over the basement of the house as my new studio and it is spacious comfortable and opens out on to the patio and pool! My own bedroom, bathroom - I think I'll hide out here for a few months till the new house is under way!
My plans for the 10 days is to work like crazy at the house during the day - I have loads of paintings with me to finish off for galleries, and sketches for an exhibition at SHinafoot in August. I now have a book deal with QUarto, and have to start on the synopsis while I'm away,so it is more than fate that dealt me a good hand and cancelled that Oregon workshop. Nest week, I will be in pastures new as I go to Hudson River Valley WOrkshops for the 1st time - I have all new students, so lots of new faces to impress, so this week is going to be bliss here in Atlanta before the pressure begins again!
