Hello everyone and anyone who may read this!
This is cheating - I am inspired to set this up after reading about the whacky adventures of my godson who is travelling the world right now. Friends often ask me what I have up to on my trips abroad, so now they can find out first hand! (Wish I'd done this years ago!)
It is cheating for now as I have not officially started my Shinafoot travels yet, but will be going to Venice shortly with a group of artists on a non-tutoring trip - yippee, I love these!! However I have been to Frankfurt this year on behalf of Daler Rowney to help them launch their new pastels, and that was like a child in Disneyland - a gigantic trade show called 'Paperworld' full of art materials and papers - can you imagine? Like a pig in ....!
Malcolm and I also took our dogs for a lovely peaceful week to Loch Rannoch in early March at our timeshare - apart from Katy wearing a bucket for the week after an ear operation, it was all great fun, and excellent research opportunities for setting up a new painting holiday for 2007 based in AVIEMORE - check our newsletter for details.
Now it is early April, and the Venice trip will kick start the travels for the year, more often on my own this year, as Malc will be staying at home, building a new house with a super big studio for lucky me!...watch this space and come see the progress at SHinafoot throughout the year.
I have just returned from Derbyshire after teaching at a centre for 3 days - Pear Tree Farm is a new set-up near Matlock in Derbyshire - a beautiful area of middle England with lots of old mills and pretty villages to paint - actually the home of FlorenceNightingale, I discovered. I will be returning there next year in July for another 3 day workshop when we can get outdoors and sketch some of these great locations
So - the most travelling I am likely to do today is upstairs to sort out my dirty washing, therefore I will sign off and be back in touch on 19th April when the Venetian adventure begins.

Hi from the Antipodes
Can't imagine you with a bucket on your head for a week Malcolm. Ohhhhhh! you mean it was Katy!
Flipping freezing down here you guys - would love to be with you in the sunny North.
Hey Malcolm - well done with the golf win.
Love Diane
