Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Most of the first day was spent actually getting to the islands. The plane was delayed, so there was a LONG wait at Quito airport. the flight, when it finally took off, was 2 hours long, plus a half hour stop in Guyaquil. We didnīt arrive in the Galapagos until mid afternoon, but we had time to visit a colony of giant tortoises that live wild on the island, before boarding our boat in Puerto Ayora. The tortoise colony was truly a sight to see. Amazing creatures! Many of these tortoises are older than I am - a LOT older! They must see many tourists come and go, and I wonder what they think of us!
