Well after a long bus ride, waiting at the pier and a not so long bus ride I made it to Eden's Resort. It is on an island called Kho Chang in the Ranong province and it is wonderful and hardly any tourists. I also need to mention how affordable it is to the budget traveller as well - this is always a must.
Well practically everyone here is from Asha. Andrew from NY who I met weeks ago was here already with his friend Marion from Switzerland. She is a really cool person who had done a tarot card reading on me my first day. As we went along we found out that we have the exact birthday - day, month and year - who would think. We had Gary and Nicole from England, Harold from Norway, Paul from New York state, Ken, Clint and myself. But let's not forget Toum (the owner) and her husband Mike who is originally from england and of course the lovely staff. Oops forgot all the dogs who live with us - never forget the animals. Another mention the nice young couple from england Alexis and Andrew.
Well the resort was really beautiful. It has been so great to see blue skies again and the water was cool which made those long hot days much better. The island itself has an army base on it so the toursim industry is not entirely beefed up here but that was what made it even better.
I cannot really tell you what we did on a day to day basis because we all just chilled for the most part. Reading, sleeping on the hammocks, taking pics, swimming, eating, taking walks and getting to know one another.
Highlights
Harold and Gary - these two should have their own tv show or we should have a webcam broadcasting their conversations the entire time. Quite entertaining.
The Pub crawl - we all went out and ended at one bar that serves all kinds of mixed drinks and free bongs. Needless to say we all had a fun night. But here is the kicker the tide comes in near to the bar so we have to cross it to get back to Eden. Well at this point it was Clint, Ken and I. We didn't really know how deep it went but we went for it. I was on Ken's choulders which was not a smart thing to do. We are pretty sure we crossed (at least we thought of this the next day) where there is a tree stump and ken started to lose balance. Why I didn't get off his shoulders then I have no idea but both Ken and I ended up in the water and Clint a sec later. Thank g-d my camera was in a protective case and was not spoiled. We laughed and walked back - which seemed like eternity and very cold back to Asha.
My last highlight was going to bed and having 2 mices run down my wall and across the bed. At this point did I really want to step into my bed. Well of course I screamed and Clint who is the next room asks 'is everything alright?' and well my response was 'no'. He came in to investigate and laughed the whole time at how freaked out I got.
The night swims although I hate swimming in the dark the water had these cool little flickers of light everytime you moved around.
The creature lizard that decided to share my room my last night.
Of course there are so many moments of these days but I would say you had to be there to really appreciate it and laugh your ass off.
Take Care.
