We were told about a great free camp right on the waters edge near the Lighthouse at Point Lowly.  It was a great spot, we stayed a few days here, it did get quite hot and we needed the generators to try and cool the vans with the air conditioners.

We were taught a new way of crabbing, standing on the boat ramp wall the boys dropped in pots and within minutes pulled them up to find if any Blue Swimmer crabs were tempted to wander in..
You don't leave them in the water for long at all, not like at home when we leave them and return hours later to check.  This way was like fishing, throwing in a line and retrieving quite quickly.

The "boys" were very succesful landing quite a few, enough for some good size meals between us all.  I went into town and bought some of these special crab pots for Gary so he could try his hand at this new skill.  The guys were happy to share theirs, but he liked having his own.

We had a lovely surprise here too, the young couple and their children we had met in W.A. caught up with us here on their way back to Melbourne.  They are really a great family and Bec made us a Christmas Tree to hang in our van for the season.  We enjoyed their company for a few days.

Trevor and Jan left us earlier here to move on, noisy neighbours (not us) and the heat encouraged them to hit the road sooner.
