On to Wauchope to visit an old friend we share some travels in Thailand with some years back. John is 89 years old, still active, and still waiting for the promised golf game...
He took us on a tour of the local area of Wauchope on the river and out to the coast at Port Macquarie, which was very busy being the Easter weekend. We shared a lovely lunch with him at the Country Club (Golf and Bowls) before continuing on. The coastal region so busy for the holidays time to move inland.
Hoping to avoid crowds we tried the camp at Ellenborough 30 odd kilometres out of Wauchope, well others had the same idea, being a free camp it was packed, we could not find a spot to put down stakes and had difficulty manouvering the van out of the crowded area.

Drove on to a rest stop and spent the night up high in the National Park, another couple were there to share happy hour with, it was really quiet with only the occasional vehicle on the road through the night.
