Hello and Welcome,

Well after reading a friends travel log I decided mine was a little on the dull side and didnt really tell you much about anything. In this edition I intend to change that and serve up a slice of Swiss family life for you all to enjoy.

So what have I been up to since I last updated you, well I have been doing quite a bit of driving here and there. I had a great drive from a resort called Zermatt where the Matterhorn is, with 4 clients from our corporate week. They all fell asleep pretty quickly which was very good so I could get my toe down and drop them off ASAP at Geneva airport. After the drop off I decided to go and catch a flick at the 14 screen cinema I had found earlier in the week. Only problem was all 14 films started at 5pm and it was 5:10pm DOH!!! Not wanting to stand in a long queue chancing my luck that the film never starts on time I decided to get a McDonalds. Now in Switzerland McDonalds are quite rare and because of this very expensive, it is 5 for a value meal, now where is the value in that!!!

Like everything is Switzerland it is bloody expensive as I will now demonstrate. Down the local Coop you can buy a block of ordinary cheese produce of the Swiss for 6, what a rip off I can get Sainsburys finest for less than that and it will taste nice as well. The Swiss also have a major issue with chips in restaurants, where they will charge around 7 for the privlage of having a potatoe peeler and chopper prepare your chips. Other items that seem to cost the world include bread at 1.50 a loaf (not even sliced), lettuce at 1.20 (not even for an iceberg) and various other items, yet beer is for nothing, one bottle of beer 25p and it tastes nice, along with razors being the same price as in England.

Another great thing about the Swiss is that they are unable to drive properly, which can make my job a little dangerous. They so love getting as close to my van as possible so that I can no longer see thme as they dissapear into my blindspots. They do not understand the overtake rule and love to cut you up, so it is all fun out here. Plus the rubbish about the Swiss being law abiding is complete nonsense, it is just a lie to make visitors tow the line, all the Swiss speed, are loud and follow no set rules, except one that they are very boring.

So what else have I been up to this week, well in my village of Grindelwald there has been the World Snow Sculpture contest I say world, it involves 7 countries so it is about a worldly as the World Baseball Series that involves 3 nations. But there where some good entries and I will take some photos and put them on the site, Great Britain won it last year but I have yet to find out who has won this year.

I was in Zermatt earlier today and the sun was shining so I have taken a picture of the Matterhorn for you all to enjoy. The reason for going to Zermatt was to take up some Japenese clients from Zurich Airport who had flown in from Japan. It was quite funny as there was no interpretor there to sit in the van with us, but luckily the two clients spoke pretty good english and kept asking me about junk food and other such rubbish about Britain. They kept asking me how high we were to which I replied about 200 metres, as we were still on the motorway.

Well that is about it for this entry I have put a few pics on there, one for Rekha especially see if you can work out which one it is!!! There is also a great pic that I took of a drive through cash point, now I have never seen one of these befor ebut thought it might be a good idea, however everytime I drive past it is not so drive through as people still have to get out of there car after they have pulled up along side it, so how silly is that,no wonder we do not have them in the UK, hope you like the pictures. I have also included one of high life living by the Swiss, who build houses on the side of cliffs with no access roads, I tell you when it snows it is a long walk to the sweet shop.

Hope you are all well, the reason I think my updates are a bit rubbish is that I never have time to think what to say as I am always in a rush, when I do have time I am up skiing.

Take care,
