We slept a whole lot.  Air conditioning, black-out curtains, and exhaustion make for a long night of sleeping.

We woke up around 10 and had a really great breakfast.  Patio de Cafe Milagro made Sheena a mango crepe with blackberry sauce and I had a great omelette with fresh local chorizo.  They roast their own coffee so that was delicious as well.

I stopped at the cigar store next door and got a freshly hand rolled stogie for later.

We eventually made our way to Manuel Antonio national park to check out some wildlife and see if "the best beach in Costa Rica" is all that its cracked up to be.  It was a pleasant, curvy drive but it was easy breezy because we got our GPS working.  Garmin kinda takes it sweet time to start working but when it does, it works well.

We got to the park and hired a National Park tour guide named Leo.  He had a high powered telescope and he was spotting animals that we would have never seen without his help.  We saw monkeys, sloths, vultures, crabs, exotic birds, big lizards, colorful crickets, some weirdass squirrel thing, sand dollars, bats, and probably some other things I can't remember.

The tour was great and the beach was amazing.  The water was warm, calm, clean and since the beach is only accessible through the national park it wasn't overcrowded at all.  The sand was nice and soft as well. All in all, we are really glad we made the decision to cross over to the pacific side.  Not a drop of rain in sight.

After the tour Sheena was starving so we went to a restaurant 1/4 block from the hotel called El Gran Escape.  We had shrimp ceviche, calimari, and a whole red snapper.  I had some local sugar cane liquor and Sheena had watermelon juice.  We are glad that you can use the ice and water here without Montezuma kicking your butt.

We got back to the hotel and there is a bar across the street from our balcony called "El Pescador".  It seems you can catch fish and they will cook it for you.  It also seems that it is a brothel and many working girls are in it and out in front of it.

I went out to smoke the cigar and got cat called at by a lady of the evening.  Sheena and I people watched for a while and it seems that heavy set old white men with ponytails are regulars at the pescador.  Also, the police don't seem to care at all.  I'm just glad that the town is open after 8pm.

Gonna have a drink or two and plan tomorrow out a little bit.

Here is a link to some monkey business for Nate.  You asked for it....   I stuck a tiny bit of crab scrambling in there for the hell of it.
