Today we visit the village of Mto wa Mbu (Mosqueto Rier) which lies on the edge of the rift valley – beautiful as usual. We went for a hike through the region, tasted banana beer in the traditional manner (sweating like pigs in a tiny hut, passing around a tumbler to each other – not sure anyone actually enjoyed it….). Apparently the local price for a bride here is 50-100L of banana beer in comparison to the Massai whose bride price is cows.

We had a traditional lunch again high up in the mountains - the pictures tell how good it was The afternoon was spent having the local craftsmen show us how they carved animals etc out of wood & stone & the local style of painting. As usual, i found plenty of kids to play with along the way....

Tonight we are staying at Snake Park - there are hedgehogs running around the place - including babies!!! Im having the time of my life... Serengeti adventure begins tomorrow...
