Saturday 4th September 2004
Sad to leave Kho Pha Ngan - very pretty, very relaxed Island, and I did like the diving (sure you may have noticed from previous comments!)...I want to go back already...stop the ferry!

Time for some beach and nightlife now though, as I've just been too tired for the past week, and so to Chaeweng Beach, Koh Samui's premier beach.

In a word, dissapointing - nice enough beach, and very long, but very thin, and very busy. Main street is fair way back from the beach, with bungalows dotted very densely along it, so unless your in one of those bungalows, I've no idea how you find it! Luckily I was. The main street is too Ibiza for me...maybe it will grow on me.

Do nothing day today - very hot (though rains very heavily for an hour in the evening). Ironically, I'm reading a book about a guy travelling Britain at the moment, and he's just had fish and chips...that would be nice - not that you cant get western food all over Asia, and you can only have so much rice.

Monday 6th September 2004
Maps are not one of Asias strong points - I've seen maps of the same place that tell you the opposite information, and the map of Chaweung proved no better - the straight line to the junction, then turn left for the post office, was of course squiggly lane, and guess the rest of the way - an hour and a half later in the boiling sun.

I had thought it would be nice to keep my fake lonely planet books, maps, etc as a souvenir, gievn that I havent actually bought any souvenirs, and post them home - after spending a small fortune sending them back, that ideas out of the window - If I want to keep it, I'm going to have to carry it!

Remet the Welsh girls (Cery;s & Elin) I'd met up with in Phuket, and did a pub crawl, ending up in the Reggae Bar - a huge bar that played anything but Reggae, and stagged home at 2.00am...thank god I havent got to catch a 6.00am bus in the morning......

Think I'm glad to be going though - there are better places to see than here!
