Woke up this morning and it was the hottest day yet so we decided to hit Ipanema beach.  There are little mini buses that run between the beaches for 2 real which is under a euro so we jumped in one of them.  There are numbers on the lifeguards posts on the beaches and No. 9 is meant to be for the beautiful people so thats where we went to see all the posers!  There were alot of guys running and a few doing chin ups but I thought it would be much more poserish.  Ipanema is meant to be one of the most stunning beaches in the world and I can see why - there is a back drop to one side of mountains which is gorgeous.

On the way back to the hotel we saw a black guy with an Ireland t-shirt on him - bizzare!  He came out coz he saw us looking at him and wanted a photo with us cz we were Irish but sher didnīt it turn out that he was a Yank!  It was his lucky t-shirt apparently!

We got a taxi to the bus station for our next stop - Paraty.  It was our first day putting on the backpacks - oh dear lord I (sharon) nearly fell back - I felt like the bag was crushing me to the ground!  There may be a trip to the post office to send stuff home lol!

We got a Costa Verde bus to Paraty which is 4 hours from Rio.  We got on the bus and were very pleasantly surprised - the seats reclined back a good bit and were very comfy - I had a nice snooze!

We arrived in Paraty and got a taxi to our Pousada - I saw it on Trip Advisor so booked it in advance.
