Early rise for us Monday morning at 5.30 for a 7.15 flight to London. I thought that the early hour would make me less emotional but not so - Ellie (the dog) was in bed in the kitchen and she knew something was up - she was peeping her head out of her bed. I was saying bye to her I started bawling - I knew it would happen though! I composed myself in the car on way to airport and met up with Ror and family. It was emotional then saying bye to Mam and Dad because it`s a big step for all of us as I have always lived at home and am the first to fly the nest but the world is a small place now with Skype and internet.
Flight to Heathrow was uneventful but when we were waititng for connecting flight to Rio I saw on the news that a flight from Rio to Paris dissapeared a few hundred miles off the coast of Brazil which was something I really could have done without seeing. We were quite nervous and taking off the plane was shaking from side to side which I have never experienced - I started to panic a small bit but I`d say once we reached cruising altitude that stopped. We settled in for a long 12 hour flight.
