Woke to the startling news that Christchurch had been rocked by a major earthquake. Immediately contacted family as Neil has family in south island and some living in CC. Found an lovely deli diner near the hotel to have breakfast. Walked to Marble Arch and onto the London bus sightseeing tour. Saw some of the stores on Oxford St, only 1.5 miles of shopping to go! Visited Madam Tussards and got frightened by those gitts that are paid to scare people in the dungeon. Sqealled like a girl I'm told. Made the mistake of hopping off bus tour to see changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. Saw the back of heads of thousands of other tourists instead. What were we thinking? Off to dinner in Covent Garden in the evening then to see the Lion King at Lyceum Theatre which was magical although Neil and I both struggled to stay awake as jet lag still affecting us. Had a very fast ride in a London taxi back to the hotel.
