Well, here we are on the eve of our adventure. It has been quite a week trying to prepare and get ready to get away on our vacation "Down Under".
We have had lots of snow, and cold weather this winter, more than I remember for a lots of years.
Looking forward to the 30*+ temperatures in Australia, but seems a little odd, not packing even a sweater or pair of pants.
As you may be aware ? or have been following ? the weather in Australia has been less than stellar. They started out the year with major flooding in Queensland (state) which is where we are heading first, and the floods have continued on "South" with their path of destruction.
There are fires burning on the "West" coast at Perth.
The middle "East" of the continent has heat wave warnings out for the Sydney area.
AND....a category 5 cyclone just hit last weekend again on the "North East" of Queensland.
We have been in contact with our son Aaron, who was pretty well right in the middle of it all.
They weathered the storm well, but hard to say what destruction we will find as we tour around.
SO yes, we are off tomorrow afternoon, first to LA, and then right on to Brisbane and then Cairns, where we will meet up with our son Aaron and our RV "home sweet home on wheels" for the next month. We will be heading South down the coast, and ending in Adelaide on the South tip
I will try to keep you updated as we travel along. Internet tends to be a bit sketchy, so we'll have to see how that goes.
So tag along with us, and enjoy the journey!
