Hope everything there is going well!! We're having a great time. We found Charlene at our hostel on Sunday morning (a day later than when she was supposed to come). Turns out, Delta left without her and 6 others from LA as their plane in Detroit was delayed for 90 minutes waiting on 2 people. We all headed to the Blue Mountains, a 2 hour train ride from Sydney. We stayed in small town of 9000 called Katoomba and it was awesome to be out of the city for a bit. We stayed at a gorgeous YHA hostel that felt more like a chalet. Down the road from it were the 3 Sisters (rock formations)–in pictures below.

On our second day there, we went canyoning. This was 100x more the adventure then we expected. Lauren didn't end up coming as she hadn’t been feeling well –may have been a good choice since we were out in the Blue Mountain National Park (the size of Ireland) for well over 7 hours bush walking at first then crawling through cracks of canyons tied to a small black rope then backwards down cliffs (abseiling). It was an awesome adventure and throughout it kept asking the guy how people who aren’t very fit do this.. "just like you" was his response. We all had checked off our fitness level as 'good’ before going out and thought we may need to reevaluate. It was a strenuous day of canyoning, abseiling & mountain climbing but it was awesome! –See the pictures below. It was hard to capture what we really were doing.

We travelled up to Ballina by plane from Sydney on Tuesday. It was a good day to travel as it was rainy in the south but when we flew in, it was sunny and about +20. We went boogie boarding on the smallest waves and went out that night to a couple local bars to celebrate Candice’s birthday. Charlene and Lauren didn’t come as they were leaving to skydive in the morning but after getting up for it, turns out it was too windy to jump.

Today we went to Nimbin. It’s the marijuana capital of Australia. It felt like stepping back about 30 plus years into this hippie ville. It was pretty much what I had pictured it being with a few more sketchy people. They weren’t as hippie-like but were more on the “I’ve done crack for the past 20 years” look. It was a riot though checking out the museum. The people are so dedicated to their lifestyle and the police are interrupting it by putting cameras up around the town. The code word for police is taxi. Check out the few pictures. Definitely a cool little town not quite like anywhere I’ve ever been.

Tomorrow we’re going sea kayaking in Byron Bay then heading to Surfers Paradise. Then off to a kayak adventure in Noosa Heads that Candice and I are going on. The group will meet up again in Fraser Island on Sunday to explore the largest sand island in the world. Hopefully there are no snakes! As I’m heading off into the adventures, there may not be an update for a bit so enjoy.
