After we left Crete, we went to Santorini which is an island a few hours away. The island is actually made of an active volcano which erupted several thousand years ago and sank most of the island into the sea. There was a city there that was buried much like Pompeii that some people think could have been Atlantis, but that's just one theory of many. Because of the volcano, most of the coast line is steep cliffs, and so some of the towns are not accessible by car. We all rode donkeys up the side of the cliff which was fun. Once we were up there, Audra, Lindsey, and I sat a little café overlooking the sea and drank Greek coffee (mine with ice cream) for an hour. It was relaxing and beautiful after a hectic morning. We shopped a little, although we didn't have much time, watched the sunset and walked down. It was very nice, and would be a great place to go for a relaxing vacation someday.
