Yesterday we drove to San Francisco, but first we stopped at California's Ol' Faithful geyser.  It was pretty cool... it erupted every 5 minutes or so, and it was really stinky.  After driving route 1 down the California coast, and stopping at a random beach to put our feet in the water, we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge, and into San Francisco.  We checked into our hotel, and then went to Fisherman's Wharf.  We even got to take the trolly, and Shane hung off the side.
Today we went to the Exploratorium, which was quite a journey for the senses.  There were sound exhibits, sight exhibits, mind exhibits, smell exhibits, and we even explored our sense of taste at the cafeteria.  The best part though was the Tactile Dome.  It's essentially a big, windy tunnel, with slides, stuff to climb up, all sorts of cool stuff to feel on the walls, lots of twists, turns, crawl space, a miniature bouncy house, a ball pit, and lots of other cool stuff... oh yeah, and it's completely pitch black.  Nothing is visible.  You have to feel your way through the whole thing.  It's a little scary at first, and a bit claustrophobic, but after the maiden voyage, the second and third times were great explorations of touch.
After the Exploratorium, we went to Haight Ashbury, and walked around, saw Jerry Garcia's house, and then went to Golden Gate Park.  There was a big drum circle, and we stayed and soaked in the jam for a while.
After that we went to Herbst Theatre to see Robert Glasper and Hiromi.  The show was absolutely stunning.  Hiromi sure does know how to make that piano sing.
Tomorrow we'll probably go back to Fisherman's Wharf and do some of the stuff we didn't get to do before, and then it's bye-bye San Francisco.
