The beauty of this trip is the great diversity we are experiencing in terms of landscape.

I was very glad to pack up quickly and get out of the desert... can't see myself doing this again apart from the trekking trip in the Andes next month. It was rough and definitely memorable. Rates up there with my night on top of Mt Sinai back in 2000. That was hard but having sand blown into your face every 5 minutes and battling for breath was even harder. Sleeping next to Maria was fun with her whispering 'is anyone awake' at 2.45am and being convinced that the sun was rising at this time. In fact it was the moon coming up. We could only wish that morning was coming. The sleeping arrangement was tough tonight with sleeping under the stars in a very windy desert.

We left at around 7am and returned by way of camel to to our auberge for breakfast. It is basically bread everywhere we go with coffee and tea.

We travelled through more desert scenery to Todra Gorge. The scenery I observed today was absolutely beautiful.

Our hotel for tonight is the Hotel Taborile in an unbelievable setting with the gorge outside our door. Like Tiger Leaping Gorge, I have been spoilt once again!
