Hi All!

We had to walk 2 miles in the rain and catch a water taxi to write this... please read and responses are welcomed!

Well the luck continues! We've been "skunked," we decided to begin our vacation with 10 days on one of Costa Rica's most consistent surf breaks- miles of sandy beaches with miles of uncrowded surf to be found. Alas, it's been windy and onshore, about head high on the sets for the past 3 days! Basically nonsurfable "Bellows" style waves... looks promising on good conditions though. Tate- there's a sand bar developing just for you! It's a good thing we haven't rented any boards yet. We did spend hours walking on a sandy beach kicking a rock for about 2 miles challenging one another to see who could flick the thing the farthest. I finished my book and Shane is on his way with "Angels and Demons." Still no bean and rice diet, since there's Italian run places around here, we've been feasting on pasta and beer. Let's see... still no monkeys or sloths, but we did spy a "rhinoceros beetle" an infamous bug that appeared on my favorite, "Jeff Corwin Experience."

That's it for now... wish we could post pictures, but we left the extension at home...

P.S. the Spanish word of the day is... scrambled (as in how I like my eggs)- "revueltos"

Love ya,
Shane and Jaime
