After a small flight up the coast - with the Barrier Reef on one side and the Rainforest on the other - and a short boat ride we arrived at Bloomfields Lodge for 4 days of "luxury in the rainforest".

Day 1
=====
This was spent lazing by the pool, a small swim to work off the 2 course lunch and try to work up the appetite for the 3 courses in the evening.

Day 2
=====
Considerably more strenuous as it involved a 2.5 hour guided walk in the rainforest. This consisted of the guide saying "that's poisonous" when pointing to most of the plants and "that's poisonous" when referring to most of the animals / insects. This is after being told that we can't swim in the ocean next to the resort because it has lethal jellyfish and the occasional croc! Although none of the staff were worried about the enormous and very ugly black and grey spider that was outside our bathroom window.

The day also included lots more lazying around by the pool and yet more excellent food.

Day 3
=====
Included an early get-up as we were off on a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. A small boat with 12 customers and a quiet part of the reef - no other boats in sight. The day involved snorkelling, eating and lounging around. We saw lots of pretty fish and swam with a turtle!

Day 4
=====
Was back to the easier life style - a massage in the morning and a guided trip down the local river. Sadly, all the crocs were hiding so we didn't see any (so I still don't know if crocs eat accountants or if they have better taste than that).

Day 5
=====
A short flight etc and it was back to reality - an hotel in the warm, sunny clime of Cairns.

So far the weather has been gorgeous - sunny, typically 82 degrees with a light wind.

We now have a couple of days in Cairns - to catch up on the boring things like washing clothes etc. On Sunday we're off on another plane to Ayers Rock, then we're on to Perth to catch the Indian Pacific train from Perth to Adelaide. Don't know when we'll be able to do the next update.
