Our friends from CT kindly took us to visit the MoMA which is among America's finest museums. We enjoyed seeing some great paintings from classic artists, and many contemporary pieces. After missing "Starry Night" on an earlier visit to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, Shane was especially looking forward to seeing it in the MoMA. Irony is him standing there, with a thousand yard stare, facing the wall where the painting used to be...barely focusing as a plaque explains that the painting is on temporary loan to the museum in Amsterdam.
The remainder of our time in New York was spent rushing around the city trying to see as many of the famous landmarks as possible. After a few days of intense sight-seeing, we managed to visit; Grand central station, Greenwich Village, Times Square, the Rockerfeller centrer, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Dakota building, and Central Park.
